High transparency and chemical resistance

Spectrum PET-G Premium is the second most popular material for 3D printing. The main advantages of Spectrum PET-G Premium are practically no shrinkage and low moisture absorption compared with other thermoplastics used in FDM/FFF 3D printing. Parts made from PET-G keep stable properties over a long service life. Spectrum PET-G Premium combines the advantages of PLA and ABS, while also offering almost trouble-free printing and exceptional adhesion between layers.

Parts printed from the transparent colours of Spectrum PET-G Premium contain a high proportion of crystalline phase, which makes it possible to achieve an almost transparent effect with few outer walls in the parts produced. The pellets and pigments used in the production of Spectrum PET-G Premium are approved for food contact. (Foodsafe)

Other properties of Spectrum PET-G Premium include good creep resistance under constant load. This stems from very good cohesion between the layers of the material. The result is much lower mechanical anisotropy in printed parts, which means that mechanical properties are similar regardless of print direction, compared with other thermoplastics for 3D printing.

The very good mechanical properties of Spectrum PET-G Premium, together with chemical resistance, make the material particularly suitable for producing parts that require high dimensional accuracy and stability in both shape and mechanical properties. This applies in particular to gears and sliding parts that are exposed to relatively high static loads in a water environment. PET-G is also used to produce translucent housings and backlit parts for various kinds of panels and signs.
