ABS reinforced with aramid fibres

Spectrum ABS Kevlar is a strong blend based on ABS with added aramid fibres, commonly known as Kevlar. The need for better properties than conventional ABS offers, with increased durability and higher tensile strength, led to the development of a material that combines the very good properties of ABS and aramid fibres.

The changes that were made led to lower shrinkage, outstanding adhesion to the build plate and a lower density of the material, which means that printed parts are slightly lighter than comparable parts made from conventional ABS. The outstanding property that the material does not warp makes it possible to 3D print parts with accurate dimensions, which is especially important for projects consisting of many components.
